Hey Scotty, well after years of watching your show I finally broke down and bought my first Toyota! I picked up a 1996 Toyota Corolla and its as basic as it gets. No power windows, no power seats and has a Toyota cassette player, same owner since 1998, only 92,000 km which is pretty rare here in Canada. Same little old lady has owned it, I have to drain the gas as its gone bad, she put 141 km on it in the last 2 years...My question is, parts of the car are silver and the other gold but the car has had no accidents. One whole side of the car is silver and the other gold, under the rubber window moldings is gold but half way up the doors the car turns a different color. Hood, roof trunk are silver...is this the sign of a bad paint job or is the paint on these cars just really bad from this generation for weird fading?

I'm pretty sure that car is older than Carfax. Silver wouldn't become golden as it fades. I have a 1979 Catalina that sits outside and has the original, silver paint job. It's faded silver. It may have been wrecked. You need to find a mechanic to do this kind of thing.
