I recently purchased a 2018 Mazda CX-5 with 60,000 miles on it, sold as certified used. After driving it for a couple of months, I've noticed that the transmission feels quite clumsy. Despite consulting the dealership, who claim they can't find any issues, multiple people have agreed that it's not performing normally. The problem seems to be most pronounced when shifting into second gear, as the car jerks back and forth briefly before resuming normal operation. This issue is especially noticeable during slow acceleration or in traffic or parking lots. It almost feels like when letting off the clutch too fast in a manual transmission, which adds to the overall discomfort while driving. I'm curious if this is a common problem with Mazdas and what could potentially be causing it.
