Hey Scotty I'm from the UK I have a 2007 1.0 Liter Toyota Aygo Manual, I've bought it used with 80000 miles, currently it's got 82458 miles on it. I've been having an issue with it where the car doesn't take reverse gear and so I had to push it into a parking space with my dad. Do you know what might be the cause of it and how could I fix it the best/cheapest way possible?
Thanks Richard
That just means reverse is gone and you'd have to get the transmission rebuilt to fix it. There isn't a cheap way to fix it and honestly I would drive for as long as you can without reverse and then sell the car and get something else.
Also where did you buy it from because whoever sold it to you ripped you off bad. This is why Scotty always recommends having a mechanic you trust check any car before you you buy it.
@jacksonishere
Thanks for the tip, I wasn't too concerned with getting a mechanic since the car wasn't that expensive for me to get ripped off that badly. I'll have a mechanic check it out soon if that is the issue I'll pass the car on.
Oh okay well that good you got it for a great deal. It's always makes me sad when I hear these stories because I've been there before with cars and I know how bad it sucks. Oh and if you go to look for a car once this trans finally kicks the bucket check out https://www.autoscout24.com/ They compare cars from multiple sites to help you find the best deal : )
