Does anyone know of a ford or maybe dorman (cheaper the better) part number for the "tranny dipstick tube extension" which fits into the trans itself?

Leave it to ford to come up with dumb stuff to nickle & dime you with, I THOUGHT things were going good by using a pipe cutter to chop a section out of the tube making it easier to maneuver but ended up snapping the stud which attaches it to the head regardless....and cutting into a semi-rotted extension.

I don't think the gale force winds blowing rust, bondo & fluid into my face helped my patience in getting things done.

Pics of the tube & 11mm nut that just made my day🤣

@RussellJKelly81 you will either need to add another link to your image in the "Your Answer" box, or make a new post. Your photo links don't function as hyperlinks, they're just spammy text. This will make it easier for others to view. You can proof-read your post for formatting by clicking on Preview Post, at the bottom of the text box. I always do this when I post pictures to make sure links or the images display before posting the question.

For some reason the edit option disappeared, should I just repost the topic?
I tried using "forum code" instead of normal links in hope they would show but no luck.

@Justin shepard feel free to delete this one, I'll just repost it sans pics. Can't find a way to chop that part out or delete the post.

It disappears for non-staff after so many minutes. Try imgur .com, it'll have an option on the image labeled Get Share Links. Copy the line for forum share and delete the img] ahead of and behind the html link, then put it in your question box and hit preview, that's how I do it.

I'll try imgur in the future, been using ibb after imageshack disappeared.

(Fixed the issue with the images not showing up)

Cool, thanks! 👍 Guess the repost I did is the unneeded version now.

@Dan cool, thanks. I deleted the re-post without the pictures

Found the part after a few hours searching, XC3Z-7A160-AA....now I'm just hoping I can get the upper tube to stay in place since the stock stud snapped & this extension has no gasket or hold down, just a heavy factory coat of teflon tape.

Apparently that's what I found the remains of when pulling it out. Maybe jb weld the halves together then do the same on the trans housing?
