2001 Dodge Durango Transmission overheating

My transmission is over heating. I have been having problems with lights flickering so I reset the TIPM and didn't fix the problem. Also had to replace battery recently. No issues with transmission until a couple of days after I replaced battery. Now transition is overheating after about 10 to 20 minutes after driving. Once cooled it drives awesome. I had fluid replaced Saturday and drove 50 miles through a mountain pass and had no problems.

Decided to take it for a drive on Sunday and drove up a steep hill and got about 100 feet from the top of the hill and it wouldn't go anywhere. Engine sounded good water heater gauge  was normal and no smoke underneath the hood.

I managed to coast down the hill and it was drive, stop cool off. Go about 20 feet and the transmission  seemed like it was stuck in neutral. I repeated these steps for about an hour and a nice couple offered to tow me home.

I got home and unhooked the battery and the TIPM for 2 days. (Lights are still flickering) The car will go into drive and reverse with no problems. (Just drove it in the driveway)

Please give me the steps I need to diagnose and fix these problems.

(Jiffy lube did not drop the pan and or change the filter)

I have been told several things, i.e. a bad alternator will cause over heating problems in the trans. 2 jiffy should have changed the filter...3 could be the TIPM...

I Am in a small unincorporated town with no services... not even gas. I don't trust anyone from here to work on my car (fear of over charge or rebuild transmission when not needed etc...

I have a 2001 dodge Durango slt.

Runs great other than the most recent transmission problems and the blinking lights.

Please help or better yet, work on my car for me.

Well I would have to road test a car like that with my machine hooked up and then analyze the results. I'm presently in Rhode Island but I'll be back in Tennessee in December

Taking your car to Jiffy Lube is like taking your Mother to an executioner.
