Scotty
I have a 2014 Nissan Murano with 59k actual miles and a CVT transmission. I've had it since new with no issues. I keep it maintained and as you can see I don't drive it that much.
A transmission mechanic advised me not to change the fluid for in his opinion it was horrible transmission and probably would not shift correctly afterwards. He suggest keeping the car until about 100k miles and sell it before it had any problems.
What is your opinion?
Thanks for your reply
Drain and fill the cvt using factory fluid. This transmission can be trickier to do since there is no dipstick safest way without scan tool and proper tool is run it until warm and drain it from the pan and measure what comes out and refill with equal amount. Most of them only lose roughly 4 quarts when drained this way
And the Murano’s have a lot fewer cvt concerns than most of the others those transmissions last as long as they are properly maintained
wow . tranny failure after only 59k.
