Hey Scotty,
We have a 2017 highlander limited platinum. It's coming up on 50,000 miles and I will be doing an oil change as well as what I assume will be it's first transmission fluid change. While searching Google for how to do it, I saw a YouTube video of a mechanic doing a flush. He took out both parts of the drain plug, and disconnected the transmission cooler hose and had someone start it. He had it run until the hose went from steady to starting to spit. Is this correct because that's seems dangerous for burning up the transmission? Thanks in advance, you're awesome.

That's dangerous as heck. Just drain and fill. Do not flush
