Hello again everyone for curiosity I am asking a quick question and what would be the best to maintain it from here, so because of unfortunate economic reasons I have not be able to get my transmission fluid serviced on my 2013 chevy impala and i checked the tranny fluid stick today and the color is a lot more of a browning color now, the fluids still full so theres no leaks but im assuming its definitely warn at this point what would be the best way to keep it going for a bit longer, its at about 120K miles and i drive to work and i also work for grub hub ,thank you everyone again.
It is worn. When you see black bits, it's going out. Don't drive like a maniac and baby the transmission.

Is the fluid gritty? If so the friction surfaces in the transmission are worn off and the suspended grit may be all that's permitting it to work. If the fluid is just dark but not gritty it should be safe to do a simple drain and refill. No one can guarantee what will happen though. The transmissions in those cars are exactly not the best around.
it dasnt look like it has clutch material on its just more on the lighter brown side now than red
That being the case you should be OK doing a drain and fill. Change filter also if it has one.
got it will do
I assume it has not been changed. In this case, leave it alone.
it has not been nor do i know if it ever was, but thank you for the help {black} though!
If you decided to change the fluid, make sure you keep the old fluid in a clean container just in case.
will do thank you
If you want your transmission to keep working, change the fluid and filter.
I have not changed it myself nor do i know if it has been but im assuming 120k isnt to much to try or it is?
It doesn't sound like your transmission has failed. But if you don't drain the old fluid out, it will.
will do thank you again man
thank you ahead of time for everyones help again as well, hope all is well
