Should I Change Transmission Fluid on 09 Toyota Avalon?

About a year ago I purchased a 09 Avalon with 68k.  It now has 79k and I'm unsure if I should change the transmission fluid. The local Toyota dealer suggest that we don't as we don't know if it was ever done. What should I do?  It runs great and I really love the car and need it to last as long as possible.

Change it, and then do that every 60k miles.

I would change it now and consider that a “reset”.  From this point onward, I’d personally change it (drain and fill) every 40,000 miles.

Hi,

Your Avalon probably has a dipstick - You can look at your fluid to check its condition.

Unfortunately, the 2009 Avalon does not have the dipstick.

That's a shame 🙁

Thank you all for the comments. The dealership thought it was a bad idea and could open a bigger can of worms. I am assuming that's possible. Don't have the money any major repair right now.
