I've always put my vehicles in neutral or part when I'm at a stop light. I have a 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 5.0. I'm pretty sure this is a good practice. Does anybody have any different opinion?

This is actually not needed. You technically waste more gas since the idle is higher in neutral than drive. Watch the RPMs, you’ll see what I’m saying.
