Hello, I have a 2011 Ford F150 6spd auto, with 115k. Last night I noticed a “burning” smell and my transmission wasn’t acting properly. I’m assuming it needs fluid. Will a full flush of transmission fluid be required or could I just add it? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Yes sorry. I noticed a decrease in power, and when slowing down from third gear, the gear indicated a shift from 3rd to 5th rather than to down to 2nd gear if that helps.

Best to take it to a transmission specialist that can diagnose it using a fancy bidirectional scan tool.
