Truck Trade Inquiry

First of all, thank you for your time.

I have a 2018 Chevy Colorado Lt. It has 43k on it and I just added a linex and a tow package. The truck is flawless. I am going to a nearby dealership later this morning to look at a 2013 tundra with the following engine.

5.7L V8 32V MPFI DOHC Flexible Fuel

The tundra has about 72k on it. Would this be an upgrade or should I keep what I have? I'm thinking long term here. Also are their any red flags to look for? Truck looks to be in good shape. It is a one owner and local town truck.

The trade in value on my Colorado will be about what they are asking for the tundra.

Thoughts and advice is greatly appreciated.

Do you have the diesel or the V6? If you got the gas I’d trade out for sure. But if you have the diesel truck I would definitely be hesitant on getting rid of it.

Gas version. 3.6 V6.
Thanks for your comment

Is the flex fuel engine just as reliable in the tundra?

@woods31 Yeah I’d get rid of that V6. The IFORCE 5.7 is a great motor but some things are hard to replace and get to. For example if your starter goes out be prepared for an all day replacement. However there has been a few million mile tundras and most I’ve seen are well over the 200k mi mark and are still driving great. Also wouldn’t run 85 octane, I’d be running 87 or whatever your mid grade is.

The Colorado is about to become a nightmare of expensive fixes.  I'd get rid of it while it's still running.

Well fellas I got it done. They did an even trade for my Colorado. So I traded a 2018 Colorado LT with 42k for a 2013 TRD grade with 72k. I'm pretty excited. I don't think I got screwed. If I did I don't feel that way. Wife loves the truck too. Should last a while.
