Hello Scotty!
I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado with the 5.3 v8 (non flex), 2wd ext cab LS with about 203000 miles.
The truck was running great until one week I let my wife borrow it since I was working on her car.
She had told me she had to jump start the truck one day to get it going.
the next time I go to start it, it doesnt.
so thinking it needs a jump I do. No go though.
Battery read 12.6 volts.
I ended up changing the ignition switch, throttle position Sensor and accelerator pedal position sensor and nothing.
When I go to start it now though it says Unknown driver and the “battery light” is on. No codes.
The truck cranks once but it does not turn over and I can not shift the lever out of park.
Hopefully my description can help you guide me in the right direction!
thanks for your knowledge
If you have a spare key, try with that. If it does the same, odds are that you have issues with anti theft system.
Hey,
Thanks for your input!
I went ahead and changed the crankshaft position sensor, since I was just doing “process of elimination”.
Still same situation.
I then logged back in here and read your post.
I tried the spare that I do have and nothing.
Then I put two and two together…..
You mention the anti-theft system and after thinking and realizing that I have a third party alarm/remote start, It must be hooked up to the anti-theft system.
I went ahead and disconnected the third party alarm and
BINGO!
Thanks to your post sir, I came to that conclusion!!
You’re the man @yaser
Thanks
@EHAM You're welcome. I'm glad it worked out. Thanks for the update.
