I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra. I am the second owner and want to make this truck last as long as possible. I was advised to undercoat it but am not sure how necessary that is as I live in a state where it might snow 2-3 times per year and rarely more than an inch. Also don’t live anywhere near water. So I want to be sure I’m not wasting my money. Currently there isn’t any rust under my truck.
The problem with rubber-like undercoating is if improperly applied it can actually trap moisture and make matters worse. What I do is spray the undersides of my winter-use vehicles with Fluid Film each fall to retard rust. (You can't stop rust but you can slow it down.)
i might do it depending on the cost, if i planned to keep it a long time
i have a 2002 that came from PA and looks to be undercoated
