Hello all the way from Central America Scotty!

Love your channel! Scotty, in the country where I live there are no Toyota dealerships. I have a Toyota Matrix 2004 with 128K plus miles, how can I (or should I) update my ECM? I have heard in your channel that all cars need an update to the computer, so how could I check if my Matrix needs one? There's nothing wrong with my car, but you know, just making sure my Toyota keeps running "for ever"!

Thank you Scotty!

You could contact Toyota with your VIN number, and maybe they'll tell you if there's been an update.

But the only way to update it would be to visit a Toyota dealer.

But I don't think ECM updates were really a thing back in 2004
