Used car to buy?

Topic starter

I've been on the hunt for a car for a bit now, and here are the options I'm considering

a Kia Forte made in Korea 2017 with 93k miles

a Toyota Yaris made in Indonesia 2017 with 82k miles

a Hyundai accent made in india 2019 with 88k miles (got a really good deal on it)

can’t really decide between them

You might want to search the board since this type of question has been discussed quite a few times. In short, stay away from Hyundai/Kia products.

@chucktobias never seen them talk about the ones made in korea/indonesia etc..

If you're talking about cars sold in those markets almost nobody here has knowledge of those. As far as Kia/Hyundai products although the Korean built ones are reputed to be somewhat better all those sold in the U.S. are problematical no matter where they are built.

I'd go with the Toyota Yaris of those three, personally. Have a mechanic check it out. As @chucktobias mentioned, quality isn't at the top of the list on those cars. They burn oil from a young age; up to quart per 1,000 miles is "normal" per dealers in the US.It's really not normal, they don't want to replace faulty engines.

@justin-shepherd I’ve just seen a video of Scotty talking about the the Korean ones can go up to 300 miles with little problems. The thing with the yaris is that it’s made in Indonesia which makes me believe they are low quality
