Hello everyone,
I need an AWD SUV because here snows a lot and the temperature drops below -30 Celcius. I am thinking of buying a used 2016+ Lexus Rx 350. Which year is a good buying? Or is there an alternative option (other vehicles)? I don't want to spend over $40K CAD. 2017 Lexus Rx 350 with 90K km are sold for around $38K.
Would it be more expensive to own/maintain Lexus Rx? Compare to owning Honda CR-V. CR-V doesn't cost much owning and maintaining.
Sincerely
If you’re worried about pricey repairs, then yes, just get the CR-V.
As with any used car, have it thoroughly inspected by a professional mechanic, before purchase.
From my own personal experience of seeing people around me how own Lexus cars I would suggest getting a Toyota or Honda suv because of their lower maintenance/repair/parts cost compared to Lexus which has always been more expensive when it comes to repairs/parts because of being a luxury brand.
Even though a Lexus is a Toyota, they seem a little more expensive to maintain. I don’t know the veracity of that, because I’ve never owned a Lexus. To me, it seems like the parts would be the same as a Toyota.
With that said, the CRV is a fine vehicle. I have driven a 2015 for the past 6 years, and it has 100k miles, no problems, just with basic maintenance.
Depends if you got the CRV with the 1.5L turbocharged engine. If so, I would go with the Lexus as the 1.5L engines have known oil dilution problems.
