Used Rain-x waterless spray on car black paint and now there are streaks

I own a black volvo s60 and got it 5 years ago. Aside from basic car washes, I never cleaned the car myself until now. I got the blue rain-x waterless spray and the Scott blue shop towels and used them on my car hood. I guess the hood is smoother, but now there are streaks where I wiped that shine rainbow under the sun. Any way to remove the streaks? I also saw a Scotty video where he uses a clay bar. Would that help?

What soap did you use to clean the car?

Have you tried just soap and water to get the streaks off? You didn't mention it.

rain-x leaves a film on the car which repels water. That's the streaks you see.

Wash with soap (dawn, the blue one) and water and dry with a lent free cloth.

What soap did you use to clean the car? A clay bar might help but I would only use that on certain circumstances.

I just used the rain-x waterless spray and the shop towels, nothing else.
