Hi Scotty, Love

I just bought a new car 2022 NX350h. I want to use this car for a long time, at least 8-10 years. Do I need to get Paint Protection Film for the most fragile areas? I live in Toronto, Canada, we have lots of snow slush with gravels and salt  on the streets during the winter. Thank you. Laughing Out Loud

Best regards,

Hannah

Do you mean they didn't install that TruCoat at the factory?

I see though that you're talking about a plastic type film that is applied to the paint. Might be OK but I'm not familiar with it and don't know how much protection it really offers, or if in time moisture will get under it causing more problems. Here is some info on PPF:

I'd actually be more concerned about the chassis being exposed to lots of salt each winter. I would think in Toronto you would have shops that will apply stuff like Waxoyl or Fluid Film to retard winter corrosion.

Chuck is right. The unpainted parts of your vehicle are going to corrode away long before the painted panels will. Just keep the vehicle and undercarriage clean. Wash it often especially in the winter, and keep it in a garage if possible.

Totally up to you if you want to ppf your new ride. Just make sure to get it done by a good shop that knows what they're doing. But if I were up in Toronto or anywhere up in the rust belt then I'd look at good undercarriage corrosion protection.
