Hi Scotty when it comes to reliability what are your recommendations for Toyota crossovers and sedans? And what are your recommendations for pickup trucks, (they don’t have to be Toyota)? They don’t have to be a newer model I just care about reliability.

All of the car models listed above are spot on. However, for me personally, I would only buy Toyota Tacoma or a Toyota Tundra with the 5.7L V8 (don’t buy the new generation) for modern day, or Chevy pickups 2006 or back. But in general I would only pick Corolla/Camry, Civic/Accord, RAV4/Vezna, CRV, and a Tacoma/Tundra for general ultra reliable vehicles.

I concur, my ultimate first choice would be Toyota for trucks.

For crossovers and sedans, almost any Toyota I would recommend. Most Toyota’s these days are built on similar platforms, that share engines and components. Granted there may be a model year that may not be up to par. But generally speaking, a Toyota will be reliable.

Crossovers:

RAV4, Venza, Corolla Cross.

The RAV4 and Venza are at the core basically the same car for the latest generation. They actually share a platform with the Camry.

Sedans:

Camry, Avalon, Corolla.

The Camry and Avalon used to be the same car, but the current generation I believe these are all different platforms.  The Corolla is the same platform as the Corolla Cross.

For Non Toyota trucks, my first choice would be the Honda Ridgeline.

Second Tier choices would be Nissan Frontier and Nissan Titan, and The Ford F-150 and Ranger, in no particular order.

Third Tier choices would be GM trucks.

And last tier choices would be RAM.

Granted, this is generally speaking. There are some RAMs I would consider like the ones with Cummins Diesel engines.

the Ridgeline isn't a real truck 😆 C'mon.

Hahaha. Very true. The Ridgeline is it’s own category. I don’t think there is another “truck” like it.
