Volvo XC70 automatic transmission jerking before shifting

Hi Scotty!

I have a 2010 Volvo XC70 2.4D with the 6 speed Aisin AWTF-80 SC automatic transmission with 348,700kms on the clock.

Recently the car started jerking -as if I was pumping the accelerator pedal- just before shifting during slow acceleration. Heavier acceleration or manual shifting eliminated this problem. Seems to be happening only when the engine is cold. Downshifting is unaffected.

Fluid has been changed about every 60k kms, last changed 8k kms ago, took it to the dealership, where they said 1.3L fluid was missing, they topped it up, reset the transmission's software and said there were no OBDII codes whatsoever. They washed the underbody, told me to drive around 1000 kms and I'm about to take the car back so they can check where the fluid is leaking from, but my problem is that even after their work and driving 700kms nothing changed, if anything it has gotten somewhat worse.

How unlucky am I in your opinion?

Love you and your videos,

What does have a lot of miles on it things do finally wear out. A lot of times the valve body will finally give out but a real pro can often take it apart clean it and rebuild it rather than do the whole transmission

Thanks!
