Dear Scotty, hope you are doing all fine! I got a question regarding my 2012 VW 2.5L Jetta Sportwagen. My car recently got a code of P2096, saying the post catalytic O2 sensor runs lean. My car is not new and durable I know, but this code is really annoying. This code appears the sole code I currently have. My car is from California, and currently, I am in Texas. the car has 150000 miles on it, Someone says it is the Exhaust leak, someone says it is MAP sensor gone dirty, someone says the downstream O2 sensor is bad. My car accelerates well, mileage is not too bad with 14 gallons for 400 miles and more. could please give me some suggestions.

Previously I have a P2196 code for the upstream O2 sensor runs rich, and I have changed the valve cover with a new gasket and the code is gone. Now the P2096 comes. I have spent too much time on this. Please give me some suggestions.

It could be a variety of things. Run through the "Diagnostic and Repair Procedures" on this page
