I drove a rental 2020 VW Jetta and fell in love....but two mechanics have told me no, stay away....what do you think?
Trust your mechanics stay away from that pile of junk. Scotty has a video on the 2020 VW Jetta titled "Worst Car Ever Made" or something. He says that it drives great. The flaw is that they are cheaply made and designed to fail after the warranty period. Don't expect more than 70 80k miles out of that, if you can get that. If you love it so much, lease it. Trust me you WILL regret buying it when the engine blows up because of the timing BELT. You heard me right a 2020 model vehicle newly redesigned and it has a 1.4 Turbo with a timing belt and worst of all, an interference engine. German engineering!
Thank you, Kerem. I am sad because I loved it so, but my mechanic said the same thing: "you WILL regret buying that car". It helped that I test drove yesterday 6 Jettas and they all rode rough and I did not like. So there you go😟 Thank you for the advice!
He is right in the video....the steering is magical....so much fun to drive....but this is great to know.
Glad it was helpful;)
I usually like any rental car I drive, because it’s nicer than what I drive every day. But putting emotions aside and asking if the car you drove is good to own, is a great step. VW used to be good, and easy and cheap to work on. As already stated, modern VW’s are not reliable and get very expensive.
