Hi! Just looking around on e-bay, I found a 4 cyl automatic 2005 Corolla CE with 117k miles for what seems a fair price. The car is 500 miles away from me, so not a quick trip to inspect it myself. I know e-bay has an inspection company partner called We Go Look, and I was wondering if there's any info or experience anyone has had with this company? It would cost about $200 to get a complete inspection with test drive and underside examination. If this company has a good rep, i might be worth it to have them check the car out, especially if I can get some money off the deal to pay for the inspection. We Go Look Scotty approval would probably make me bid on the car, which currently has no bidders. Thanks.
It sounds like the buyer pays the fee, which is the correct way to do it. Also, the buyer should pay the fee at the time of the inspection and there should be no incentive to the inspectors for closing a sale.
As long as WGL doesn’t make a dime from eBay or the seller, they’re probably ok.
PS: there’s always Lemon Squad; I don’t have personal experience but their reputation is pretty good. The fee is similar (about $200)
Never heard of that company, and I am always skeptical of any inspection company. Nothing beats your own independent, honest mechanic to thoroughly check out the vehicle before you buy. As an added bonus, you can be there with him as he goes through everything.
not much info on the BBB

if you use them, let us know how it turns out, would be interesting
I'm still thinking about it. The ad expires today, but no bids so it could be relisted. Not really in a hurry but will need a second car later in the year. I'll create a new topic if I use the service.
I would trust these inspection services about as much as I trust Biden.
At the bottom of the inspection report, in mouse type, you'll see the disclaimer for any information in the report, so, for all practical purposes, it's worthless. And what is stopping the seller from slipping the inspector a hundred bucks to write the report in his favor? Now the guys has $200 of your money and &100 from the seller.
lol playing both teams.
Well the reviews wouldn't be very good if they were doing that.
