Please recommend some budget non-luxury cars with good suspension (good balance between springy and dampening characteristics)?
The "ideal" suspension for me is my just sold Lexus GS300 1995.
I drove Honda CR-V 2005 and Toyota Yaris 2007. On these two I can feel all sorts of road imperfections. On Yaris I can even have a slight urge to vomit.
You're probably in the US, otherwise I'd suggest the older Citroen C5/C6. It's truly almost as magical as in the TV ads.

@Dan, Citroen looks good but yeah I'm in the US.
I'm not sure how much money do you want to spend but for the cars, I would suggest Avalon, Lexus ES, and Camry.
Around 5 grand in the US. So, there is no Hondas with enjoyable suspension?
Hondas are sporty car (compared to Toyota), you can test drive Accord but it is not as comfy as Camry.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll probably go with Camry. I was hoping somebody recommends Corollas because I've never tried them. I assume they have much inferior suspension compared to Camries.
If you want something comparable to the HS you had, Corolla is off the list.
