Hi Scotty,

I currently own a 07 Grand Marquis GS with 76K. I'm the second owner and have had it three years (only 43 K) when purchased. No rust and body clean. I've had few issues with it and besides regular maintenance, have had to replace the alternator and recently the gas tank and fuel pump after the straps rusted causing the tank to drop. It's back on the road and driving fine except for a pesky check engine light with a po451 code which I need to straighten out ( possibly EVAP or fuel pressure sensor). Anyway, Im planning a trip in October (8-10 hrs) and my mechanic suggested renting a car describing the Marquis as "geriatric" and risky taking so far. With the winter in looming and since the car is terrible in the ice and snow (live in Columbus, Oh), I'm getting the bug to trade it on a 10-12 Avalon. Why? I'm a big guy and need the room. What do you think of the Avalon for reliability? I'd get one around 100K if so. Prices are outrageous. Was looking at a 10 limited with 107 k for 12k from the dealer. Sorry for the long rant. Need your advice as I know you are both wise and practical. Thanks, Joe
