Dear Scotty, I drove a 2012 ford fusion until I got t-boned by someone. Afterward, the car could still run but the interior lights stay on even when driving. The same thing just happened with the dodge journey I was driving as a rental.
I would guess either the door alignment is off or one of the wiring harnesses was damaged in the impact and you have an electrical issue.
Easiest thing is to check.the door alignment and make sure it is closing correctly.
press the button switch and see if the lights go out
or just pull the bulbs
Also, ghosts!
The door alignment was the case with the fusion. The weird thing was that the same problem showed up again when I was driving a dodge journey as my rental car.
Probably a similar case of bad door alignment (post wreck damage)..
