Please Scotty! I traded in a 2007 BMW 530XI wagon that was falling apart monthly that was willed, given to me God Bless his soul. I/we bought a 2021 Elantra N Line w auto tip, paddles, tight.....I owned a 2018 Civic SI, I find this much funner. I am a staunch Toyota, though my wife drives a 2019 Hybrid RAV4 which I hate, ugly POS, she loves it. Have you driven the N Line Elantra, we bought one of the few left up here 2 weeks ago.
Thanks Scotty!
We are currently not recommending any Hyundai Motor Group products. If you have been following Scotty for any length of time, then you already know he is not a fan of them either and has been warning people of them. If there was a doubt, see below: also, the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty (only applies to the original owner, btw) is not what it is cracked up to be as more times than not they look for ways to get out of a warranty claim and refer to problems as “Oh, that’s normal”. Plus, some of the mechanics working on the cars have no idea what they are doing.

You should have leased it, but in any event I would get rid of it before the warranty expires.
Well I'm not a Korean car fan because overtime they have had repeated histories of engine problems and transmission problems I mean have fun with it let's pray it last a long time but I'll stick to the Toyota's
Now that you have it, have fun & take good care of it.
I’d recommend not keeping it beyond 100,000 miles/warranty period.
Well, u should have thought twice about buying one because those turbo GDI engines are weak not so great compared to the Civic Si, the Rav4 Hybrid ur wife drives and even the BMW u had before with that NA Inline 6. Also, the Dual Clutch transmissions are another weak point, again not as good as the manual in the Civic Si, the CVT in the Rav4 Hybrid and definitely weaker than the ZF tranny that u find in the BMW 5 series.
I would just take care of it and not own it beyond the warranty period assuming you don't get ripped off at the Hyundai Dealer. Korean cars, in general, are not well made and the current ones are pretty bad with all the engine and transmission problems that they have been having. You should have probably considered a Subaru WRX if u wanted a fun car and will outlast the Hyundai.
