What do you think of a 2006 Toyota Highlander 3.3? She said the only thing wrong was the code for catylic converter. It has 159k miles on it. She wants 5 k nut i talked her down to 4200. Is it worth it.? I am in Ga alone and need a dependable vehicle. I have no one to help me if i end up carless. This is all the money i have saved so i need to make sure my next car will last amd is worth it. Tired of getting screwed
If you have no extra money to fix the converter, I would make sure you live in an area that does not do emissions testing. It will not pass unless it is replaced and they are very expensive.
Have a mechanic check it out. You don't want to roll the dice with your last bit of cash.
Ya i planned on getting a mechanic to check it out. I dont live in a emissions county. Just trying ro figure out how good the highlanders are and of its worth the amount she wants. If everything is ok. Also if there are common problems with them.
Definitely have a mechanic check it out. You could get an idea if its worth buying, and maybe a quote to fix it.
I dont live in an emissions county. But of that is the only issue do you think it is worth 4200 being 15 years old wirh about 160 k miles on it if the only thing wrong is the cat converter? Also are they many common issues with the highlander that occur that you know of
And i was def going to get mechanic to check for any immediate issues
I'd pay a bit less. 3500 ideally.
Doesn't have many problems this year, though previous years had engine bolts loose issues.
Ya i tried to get it to 3800 but she said she couldnt do less than 4200. Thanks i appreciate you taking the time to reply
