My 2006 toyota highlander has an orange coolant after checking the radiator cap but after some research it says that i need the pink kind. Will running the wrong color coolant damage the engine?

Check out your owners manual for details.

Usually it says something like “use genuine Toyota coolant or compatible. In a pinch you can use distilled water or another kind of coolant, but change it asap go genuine Toyota or compatible.”

Assuming it calls for it, If it were me, I would change it to the Genuine Toyota Coolant or the pink/red Asian Coolant, just for my piece of mind.
