I've never changed the manual tranny fluid in a newer Toyota. I know the older ones used actual gear oil like 75W,  but I believe the Matrix manual trans uses Toyota's ATF. Best advice is consult your owners manual, and when in doubt call the dealer parts department see what they wanna sell you.
