I got a 07 Chevy Impala LTZ for my first car, it has a 3.9L V6 engine with an automatic transmission, I got it for $3000 with 175000K miles and for the milage the thing runs pretty well, I only have one issue. Sometimes when I come to a complete stop and then floor it the car hesitates (still moving) a bit then gives a violent jerk and then the car continues on like nothing happened. This is the only real issue I have with my car, but I would like to have somewhat of an idea with is wrong with my car so when I go to a mechanic I can sound somewhat smart.
Well many things can actually do that but often it's transmissions going out on those. But pray it's something else I have a mechanical like me analyze it with a scan tool and pray it's like a bad ignition coil or something simple like that which machine can figure out pretty fast
Sounds like a possible bad torque converter. When and how frequently has the transmission been serviced with new fluid and filter?
