Hey Scotty!

Big fan here! Always wat hing your videos on youtube! I follow your channel and love waiting for new videos posted to watch!

But I have a car problem and was holing you could help...

My car is a 2014 Ram 1500 Quad Cab. 267,000 miles. I bought the truck for $2,500 and the dmv values it's at $15,000 so I have some leeway room for repairs; but I dont want to break my pockets trying to fix everything when it might be easier just to replace the entire engine.

When the truck is running, its making a clicking noise coming from around the cylinder 8 area passenger side underneath. What do you think this is from? Ive had someone tell me it's the lifters. I've changed all 16 spark plugs and all 8 coils recently.

How can I quiet it down or completely get rid of this noise? It's not super loud but its annoying and it comes and goes.

I have a video of the noise, I cant figure out how to post it on here. I can send it over email or something, let me know.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you can help me!

Sincerely,

Joseph A

Well the fastest answer I can give you is you might have just developed the legendary HEMI tick. My dads 17 Rebel does the same thing. And just like you his comes and goes. I told him to watch how long he’s idling the truck and as soon as he starts taking off it goes away for him. Gotta keep that oil flowing in those newer hemis. Very few people I know that develop the HEMI tick have actual problems. My old friend from high school got 390k mi out of his with the tick. Keep up with oil changes and don’t let truck idle for loads of time you should be ok. It’s annoying I know. The engineer that did the redesign on the newer HEMI should be smacked around.

I apologize I forgot to mention I don’t know if you’re using E85 fuel or not but do not use E85 in that truck. 87 or higher is what that HEMI loves.
