Whats wrong with my AC in my 2012 Honda Civic?
Not sure if I have enough evidence to help - but my AC will blow cold air for maybe a minute or two after starting up. Then it gets hot. No difference in whether I'm recycling cabin air or pulling in exterior air.
Weird that it'll work just fine then quit. Possibly a bad compressor or I have a lack of refrigerant? Thanks.
If it means anything - 107k miles. Bought used at 103k miles in March '23 and haven't had any issues with the AC until now.
It's not unlikely the car has lost refrigerant over the last 11-12 years. They all leak a little bit and Scotty has said Hondas are more prone to it. However it's also possible that it's a problem with the blend door inside the dash.
If you are not familiar with working on AC your best course of action is to take it to a good independent shop for an expert to check out.
