I’m looking into getting rid of my Chevy Cruze for a 2018 or newer used Honda Fit. Just wondering if they have common serious issues and wondering if it’s smarter to go manual transmission or cvt. It will be a daily driver getting 100+ miles on a day
That’s a very smart move. Honda Fits are excellent daily drivers and they’re quite reliable - they don’t have any major known issues. I would go for the manual transmission for absolute long life. The CVT is okay but Honda makes very dependable manual transmissions and it will also make that Fit much more fun to drive.
I like the Fits. They have a good, sporty design and I can't say I've heard anyone talk about any issues with them. For commuting or high mileage use like you are talking about, I think it is a solid choice. You'll definitely like the gas mileage.
Pick the manual Fit if you want a spacious runabout, which will run forever, with just basic maintenance.
