I'm in the market to purchase a used Honda/Lexus or Honda/Acura. I'm probably going to stay in the years 2010-2015. I'm looking for gas mileage, so I believe I want to stay with a 4 cylinder. I was going to ask which of these car brands combined engine and transmission I should buy, but it may be easier to just tell me which engine and combination transmission I should stay away from. I'm going to look for Toyota Camary or Rav4. Honda Accord, CRV, or HRV. Lexus ES or IS. Acura ILX or TRX.
I really like the Honda Crosstour. Was its 4 cylinder and transmission good? It definitely worries me that they discontinued it. Was it a mechanical issue or just a marketing issue?
Wow, that's like 6 questions. Maybe you can narrow it down by doing some reading at these sites:

When I last wanted to shop around for different vehicles, I went to a Carmax, where you can sit in, drive and look at LOTS of different models and see what you like/what fits you. They don't do high-pressure either. Not saying you get a good price there, but you can find out what you like quickly.
I'd like to start with the most likely engine and transmission reliability, then I can go look at the vehicles with those combinations.
I would suggest you search through Scotty's YouTube channel and also this forum for some information on years to buy or those to avoid. I will link one below as an example/starting point.

TMK, the Crosstour is basically a Honda Accord in an Crossover form factor.
Honda was too early to the crossover game, discontinuing too early, IMHO.
