This is just a hypothetical dilemma. If someone had a small budget but wanted a brand new car right out the box, which one of these should they choose? The Chevy Spark, Mitsubishi Mirage, or Nissan Versa. These would be the 21 or 22 models of course. And would it be better to grab them with a manual trans? Quite a dilemma indeed.
None of them. Get a used Honda, Toyota, or newer Mazda. A manual is better to get for less complexity and longer life.
Here’s something else, it’s hard to get your values worth when buying used cars at the moment. Wouldn’t driving away in a new car be the better option? Stories about cars appreciating are becoming more common place
Cars appreciating is not going to happen forever; the norm is cars depreciate over time. Yes, if one can afford it then definitely getting a new car is a better option when one sees the used car prices, but this doesn't mean buying just any new car out there. A new Honda or Toyota yeah definitely great idea, but new Chevy or Nissan I would prefer riding a horse.
It all depends on the deal you can get. Some dealers are jacking up prices on new vehicles. The market is bad right now. How long/many miles do you need from the vehicle.
Some dealerships are doing markups but if they can get at msrp then that is a good price for new Toyota or Honda in this market. Specially if they can wait (put deposit and wait for the car to come) they would have more choices (more room for negotiation). I think it's pretty safe to say that almost in all states there is at least a dealership or two willing to sell at msrp without added nonsense stuff.
None of the above. It would be far wiser to resist the temptation of a crap car that's brand new and spend the money on a good used Toyota or Honda instead.
Run away from all of those. I would ride a horse but not buy any of the cars you mentioned.
At that point you might as well look at a Kia for that 10 year bumper to bumper warranty lol
Get the cheapest Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru. Subcompact, base model, usually the cheapest.
None of them, especially if you intend to keep well outside of the warranty period.
As above. As Scotty Kilmer has said try to get a car that's been used for highway miles as well. City driving wrecks cars.
