I am currently in the market for a cheap but reliable used car and I have looked at a couple of options:
2002 Ford escort 4D, automatic transmission and has 160000 miles and a list of new parts, including the engine.
listed at 2200$
2007 Ford focus SE 4D, manual transmission and has 193000 miles (No mechanical issues) fwd.
listed at 1750$
2007 Toyota Prius Hybrid has 180000 miles.
listed at 4000$
And a Toyota Highlander 2006 limited FWD
with 182000 miles.
listed at 4500$
what would you recommend, I want the car with the best value for money.

When was this engine replaced? Who did the work? Is it a remanufactured one?

Too much money.
The best one of the bunch would be the '07 Ford Focus. If the '02 Ford Escort had a remanufactured engine from a reliable company and everything was done correctly, then that one would be ok to buy.
Thank you for ur reply! About the ford escort, I am not completely sure if the it had a new engine, what would be ur opinion on it if it was the original engine?

As long as it doesn't burn oil/ runs okay. these focus with manuals are very reliable.
Amongst those, I would just consider the Highlander. The price is high though but at least you get a reliable car.
