I was browsing used cars the other day and a 2006 Mazda RX-8 caught my eye. It is worth nearly 5,000, it has 111k miles on it and it claims to have "multiple owners" and no accident and damage reports on the vehicle.
I remember you've made comments about the Mazda from back in the day compared to the modern Mazda.
What would you recommend if I were to get my hands on a used Mazda?
I would not buy an rx8 and expect it to be reliable.... those rotary engines in those are notorious for blowing seals and making oil into milk. Although literally every other mazda is reliable as hell. The protege and miata only blow crank seals with the 1.6 engine. I trust mazda like I trust Toyota honestly but those rotary engines are just asking for expensive trouble.
