Hey Scotty,
I drive a used manual ‘01 Chrysler PT Cruiser with a little over a hundred thousand miles (105,077). Sometimes when I’m driving at night after about 10-15 minutes of having the high beams on, every light in the car will shut off Dash lights and headlights included leaving me totally in the dark. When it happens, I turn off the high beams and the lights’ll come back on after a second or two. I had it get checked out and I was told the issue was fixed, but it has continued to happen since. So I’m determined to figure it out and fix it. Any advice?
Thanks!

"why" is because the circuit breaker built into the headlight relay is being tripped and it takes a couple of minutes to reset itself after you turn off the high beams.
It's in position R1 in your passenger compartment fuse box.

What's causing it could be a faulty relay, corrosion in one of the high beam bulb sockets, a chafed wire in the headlight circuit intermittently touching ground, but if you check that stuff over and they're ok, on the PT Cruiser it's likely the MFS (MultiFunction Switch)

Thank you!! I will look into this!
Just poor quality. Buy a new car in total. Your gonna have more problems down the road.
