Why do you treat GM like they never made good cars?

Hi Scotty!!!  Love your channel. I know you love Toyota’s and rightly so as they are excellent cars so much so that when asked i always recommend a Toyota  Corolla. Here’s my question why do you treat GM like they’ve never made a good car in their history?  Most GM cars from the 1920’s(except the cooper head Chevy)right up to the 1970’s were very reliable cars.

In the sense that very few drivers today use them for regular transportation, GM cars from 40-50-60 years ago are not relevant to most people. (It's technically not even the same company any more.) What most folks want to know is what they can expect if they buy a new or late model GM vehicle. They consider a 1965 Impala something they'll see at a car show or in a museum.

Well I agree with that,I pretty much have given up on the company it’s become. And how they have destroyed Cadillac. Other than a Camaro,Corvette or an Escalade (and Suburban)there’s nothing there that interests me.

Probably because those old cars don't really exist anymore 😆

Because what they did 50+ years ago is of absolutely no relevance today!

Really? A 55 Chevy or a 63 corvette all of the 60’s impalas and chevelles,GTO,eldorados,tornados etc etc are of no relevance today???

@edzilla
Nope, I had a wonderful 67 Camaro, but it is of no relevance to what GM produces in 2020

True GM just sucks today. But some of the cars do stand out from the crop and i mean crop of lookalikes being sold today. You shoulda kept that Camaro!!!

Scotty always says the older GM's are quite reliable. Which they are. The new ones are half Korean made and half Mexican made.

I work for a GM dealership. Their quality has really shit the bed. Stay far away from most GM cars/suv's. The trucks are halfway decent and I wouldnt worry to much about those.

That’s true i have heard him say that a couple of times and you as a worker for a dealership would have the inside scoop. I bought an 09 BMW 3 series and the salesman told me they don’t make money on the cars........they make money on repairs and parts and the hateful labor charges.

Its all about the money, the more they break down the more money they make, gm reliability sucks after so many years or miles . Go look at an Asian car, for example the muffler 15 years in and looks new now look at the mufflers from gm 5 years in and all rotted out. The material gm use are of poor quality on some models maybe not all . And that goes for the rest of the car parts too.

As messed up as that sounds you are absolutely right. They don’t care about anything but money. My first Japanese car was a Datsun 510 that i traded a 71 malibu for and it was one of the most reliable cars I’ve ever owned(the Chevy was great but i wanted something different)i had bought a 1991 Honda Civic and that was an amazing car. Bought mostly foreign cars ever since.
