Hey Scotty. Love the channel. Just got my son a 2002 Nissan Xterra we nA. Today we went out to start it and it started fine but then the rpm would miss or skip at around 2k. If I give it gas and hold it there is no miss . It has 200k on it as a well maintained one owner vehicle. Also there are no engine lights on at all. I’m stumped. Have not had any problems at all with it until now. It had a timing belt and water pump done at 100k . I’m going to do it again here soon.

Time to change the timing belt. It might be due to that.

@yaser
That is on the list. Also had a humming that I think I pinpointed to the distributor bearing

Also check the mass air flow to see if its dirty. It won't always throw a code if its just dirty and not malfunctioning electrically.

Thanks guys. It turned out to be the distributor was completely torn apart the bearings were destroyed there was two bearings left in the whole thing. Replaced it along with new timing belt tensioner water pump harmonic balancer throttle position sensor fuel filter and nKG plug wires. Oem plugs replaced as well.
