Hi Scotty!
I have a 2010 Hyundai Veracruz, Limited FRD.
Back in March, I took my car to PepBoys, because it was clicking when making a right or left turn. It was my CV axle and the mechanics went next door, to AutoZone, to order one. Returned for repair 2 days later and the issue was fixed but as soon as I drove onto the main street my car started to vibrate at around 40 miles per hour. I u-turned and told them to figure it out and fix it. They told me they will order another CV axle and return in a couple of days. They called me back the next day saying the problem was fixed and that they gave me a complementary alignment and balance for my troubles. Drove onto the main street and nothing changed. There was still vibrating at 40 mph.
Keep in mind, that my car had no shake or any vibrations before this diagnosis.
So I u-turned again and asked them if they even checked, repaired, or driven the car. They then blamed it on my bad tires telling me I needed new tires. I bought brand new tires from them and that did not fix the issue. I told them I would take it somewhere else for a real diagnosis and return with my findings.
I'm a busy woman with 2 children and have a truck so I've been driving that to work. My Hyundai has been sitting in my driveway for 5 months, now. Took a week off and decided to put some time back into the issue. Took it back to Pepboys, new mechanic and crew, and gave them the rundown on my situation and issue a few months back. They determined it was my motor mounts.
As of today, all 4 motor mounts were replaced and the violent shaking continues.
I took it to PepBoys because i trusted the big brand name. I have alot of small mechanic shops in my area, I make take it to one to get another opinion.
My Hyundai dealer is booked until October for recalls and other repairs. I booked for October, but I would like to put this issue behind me and drive my suv again.
Please give me any insight on what may be wrong or what needs to be checked, or where to take it for the correct diagnosis.
Thank you!

Big mistake. I think you learn your lesson but unfortunately, in a hard way.

For your future repairs, find a good independent mechanic and never ever take your car to chain auto repair shops.

You are lucky then. They are worse than the chain repair shops.

You might just need a front alignment. Find a good alignment shop and take the car there. They can help you.
I had a similar situation on a 2008 Veracruze. Turned out to be one of the fancy aluminum wheels was out of round. This was at a STS after new tires were installed. Took it back three times. Finally gave up and took it to a mechanic I heard about through word of mouth. He said they had put a ton of weights on all the wheels. He took all the weights off and balanced all four tires from scratch. He pulled off at least a two dozen weights. He ended up having to install one weight on one tire and the car road as smooth as silk. All these chains stores just want to move the cars and don't allow the time for the mechanics to trouble shoot much less road test cars. Try a Kia dealer if you can't get a Hyundai appointment. Kia's are build by Hyundai and the drive train parts are common. I did that a couple of times with my Hyundai's and they were able to fix them with no problem. The only problem is they can't honor Hyundai's warranty. Being the car is 12 years old there is no factory warranty left anyway.

There's your problem right there. Chain stores are bad news, and Pep Boys is one of the worst. You might as well have Moe, Larry, and Curly working on your vehicle. Take the car to reputable independent mechanic for diagnosis.
Did they use rebuilt or brand new CV axles?
Anyway, I agree with the others, you need to find a real mechanic to diagnose your issue.
My guess is the CV axles themselves are either 1. Bad or 2. Badly installed.
