Hi I got a 1998 Toyota Avalon with 218,000 miles. It has a small valve cover gasket leak. After a month I have to put in around half a quart of oil. Im thinking of putting at205 hoping that it would fix the problem. I don't want to take it to a mechanic because I've had bad experiences with the ones In my area.

I'm pretty sure AT-205 only works with rubber seals that are spring/tension loaded, like the rear main seal. I don't think it will do much for a valve cover gasket leak since it's just a piece of rubber placed in a groove. But I guess you could try it out and see if it works - it won't harm anything.

For that age, get the darn gasket changed. Its definitely shot! Should not be a big job

Change the valve cover gasket.
