My 2017 Ram 1500 has a condensation issue inside the windshield-i.e. the whole inside surface of the windshield has been wet ( as in wipe your shower glass off wet ). This condition has happened twice now. The truck has not been driven for at least 24 hours when this happens; however, the temperature difference overnite amounts to about 30 degrees. The only modification I have made is to add wind/rain deflectors on the outside of the truck and install a weathertech floor liner front and rear. The truck has less than 16k miles, is an automatic and has not had an OBDII scan. Some web sites suggest that the rear brake light gasket may be defective: how would moisture go from there to the front of the car??? Go figure.
Thanks for your help,
@ram2017
condesation inside winshield. check for leaks, water is getting inside your windshield from outside, sometimes water can get inside the edges of anything. can you upload pictures please?
Condensation is caused by a variation in temperature between the inside and outside of the vehicle. Believe it or not this can be caused by the inside of the window being dirty. How? If there is dirty/dust/grease built up on the inside of the window (even if you cant see it) it can have an insulating effect making the temperature of the inside of the window warmer than the outside of the window.

yeppers, a necleation point will sure do it : )
And clean windows are just better all round : )
Sounds like you may have moisture ingress to the cab (possibly caused by your rain deflectors?) and its causing dew overnight on the inside of the windshield
@jimbob
I will pull the deflectors and see what happens. Thanks...
@jimbob
I removed the deflectors and the moisture is still inside the windshield after a nite of temperature differential sufficient to create it. Could there be a leak in the seal of the windshield?
@jimbob
I replaced the third brake light housing gasket. There was plenty of moisture on the gasket surface as I scraped it off. I replaced the old gasket with a new one and sealed the surface with silicone applied directly to the new gasket surface. I installed the housing to the body taking care to press firmly in order to get a good seal. I tightened the two screws holding the housing to the body carefully then applied some sealer to the outside of the housing-it doesn't look pretty but no water is getting in. After leaving the cab windows down and ensuring that all was dry I noticed after 2 times that no moisture was forming on the inside of the cab. So, the moisture which was getting past the seal of the third brake light housing was lingering inside the cab then condensing on the inside of the windshield.
Problem solved...
