Good morning,
I have a 2024 Acura Integra Type S, 6 speed manual. While driving in 6th gear at 60-65mph the floor mat became stuck under accelerator and pinned down accelerator for about 5-10 seconds while worked to free it with my foot. It appears the mat wasn't clipped in and caused this. I'm partially glad I was in 6th as I didn't accelerate very much during that time but worried if it might have caused damage to engine. No lights are on and car drives fine. Car only has 220 miles on it and is a lease for 3 years and I called the dealer and they brushed my concern off since no engine lights are on. Should I be concerned? I was always taught never go WOT in 5th or 6th but I couldn't prevent this situation. Also the car never really did anything as far as reving up stayed around 2500 rpm and only sped up maybe 5-6 mph during this time. Thank you for your time.
If the engine wasn't over-revved beyond the redline it's no problem.
@chucktobias thank you for responding I appreciate your help!

That was most likely because you have no torque in high gears (the force that pulls you back into the seat is torque), not that you could damage the engine, unless you redline it. You can go WOT in top gear, but you won't go anywhere, anytime soon. You learned that yourself. Overdrive is made for cruising efficiently down the highway, not for rapidly picking up speed. You need torque for that. You'll just waste gas and not have anything to show for it. You create more speed in exchange for torque in top gear.
I played a video game once, racing with different kinds of Hummers. I selected the manual transmission, and the computer had automatics. It came down to the transmission, literally. I beat the computer, because I know all about gearing and torque bands. My front wheels were probably 5 feet ahead of the computer's.
@justin-shepherd thank you so much for the help and response!!
