Hi; I am new here from the Czech Republic.
Anybody here familiar with European cars?
My mother needs a runaround car for the city during the week and highway trips during the weekend.
What do you think of a Škoda Felicia ?

This one is a bit older but has only 44 xxx original miles.
Could it be a good car?
Thanks;
Diana
Our moderator @dan is familiar with European models, hopefully he will have some insights for you.
It's a 23 year old 54 horsepower small car - are you sure that that's what you're looking for?
The Felica is not rebadged a VW at all.
It's from the era when Škoda was influenced by VW, and sold original cars.
Even the engine and platform on that thing is a Škoda design, and not VW developed.
Local mechanics, if you can find an honest one, probably know more about it than me.
I do not know enough about these, but if I had to guess I'd say no - maybe but only if it's in REALLY good shape.

My mother likes this VW, too.
What do you think; Dan?
It's alright, these are considered good cars.
The chassis are simple, the 1.6L engine is good if serviced properly, and the manual is a big bonus (not having to worry about the AT breaking down).
What matters most with that car is its current condition - if a qualified honest mechanic inspects it very thoroughly and says it's in perfect condition it might be a reasonably good car
(probably not flawless, it's a 21 years old German but most likely above average for its age).
