My 2021 corolla came stock with Yokohama tires and they are working great! Once they get more used and worn, should I stick with them or switch to another brand like Michelin tires? Any insight?
How much are the Michelin for your vehicle compared to the Yokohama? If it were me, and especially if the cost was significantly higher for the Michelin, I would stick with the Yokohama’s (especially if they are working great for you).
I'd just keep the Yoko's. They are good tires. No reason to create an unnecessary expense for yourself.
Both Michelin and Yokohama tires are excellent. You can't go wrong either way. The one exception is the Michelin X-Ice tire.
Michelins are great tires but if you are fine with Yokohama then just stick with those.
Michelins are the best tires made, period, IMO. Michelins end up being cheaper per mile in the long run due to excellent longevity
Once you get into the top echelon of tyres (Michelin, Pirelli, Yokohama, Bridgestone, Toyo etc) the prices are going to vary pretty wildly and the performance not so much.
In Europe each new tyre is marked with a label stating its fuel efficency rated A-E. wet grip/stopping distance rated A-E and noise in dB. If nothing similar exists in the USA, just look up the tyre models on an EU website (oponeo.ie for example), and choose one that fits your performance requirements and wallet requirements.
I've usually found Michelin and Pirelli to be unneccesarily expensive by comparison to others.
american tires are market with a wet traction code of A,B,C. A being the best in wet conditions. I always bought A tires. Michelins are IMHO the best ones made.
I get whatever is on sale between the big quality brands. (Usually at Costco).
TMK, they don't carry Yokohama at Costco at this time, but I wouldn't be opposed to them. Those initially came with my Honda. And they were great!
