| Answer to: 2013 Honda CRV - Automatic trans car shudders and slight booming noise inside the car | 14Relevance | 5 years ago | Figmund Sreud | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... didn’t fail for many, many long miles. Actually, transmissions outlasted the rest of cars systems, ie, other problems caused owners to rid of their Hondas. As to the tires, CRV benefits a lot from rotating tires more frequently. Reason is that front wheels are normally set at positive camber and rear wheels at negative camber. This causes accelerated tire wear on front at the outer Edge, …and on rear at the inner Edge. Tires left for too long on front and rear axles, … when suddenly are switched will suddenly howl. So just do tire rotation more often, …F.S ... | |||||
| Could one identical engine made at two separate manufacturing plants have different reliability issues | 14Relevance | 5 years ago | SteveK | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello Scotty! I recently found and have become obsessed with your channel. Your Great! I have a 2017 Ford Edge SEL with the 2.0 eco-boost engine with 60,000 miles. I just joined an Edge owners page on Facebook and quickly learned that two manufacturing plants for this engine (Cleveland and Spain) supposedly have very different reliability records. Many on the page say the that the one made at the Cleveland plant have issues with water and oil mixing leading to expensive internal water pump replacement or often blowing the engine! The one made in Spain is ... | |||||
| 5W 20 or 0W 20? | 14Relevance | 5 years ago | MoneyPit1946 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have a Ford Escape 2017 1.5L AWD. I'm very nervous about cases of engine failure in this engine. I've had no trouble what -so-ever with this car with 40K km on it. I'd like to know your thoughts on me changing engine oil type. I'm presently using Castrol Edge Full Synthetic 5W 20 as my owners manual recommends. I'm wondering if you think I should switch to Castrol Edge Full Synthetic 0W 20? I can't get a straight answer from my dealer, I just want to take every step possible to prevent an engine failure. | |||||

| ... this one is a Premium, so it has leather, etc. all in pretty good shape for a 16 year old car. New Edge GT's in CLEAN shape can be found in the $6k to $8k range. Clean V6 models usually in the $4k to $6k. Good cars. I'm only looking at the S197 style instead of the New Edge because I'm 6'8" tall and fat, so the extra room is appreciated. | |||||
| Life of a car - how long | 14Relevance | 6 years ago | Pindiwal | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, I've always bought used cars like you. My 2008 Honda Accord 4 cylinder has 170,000 miles and 2010 Ford Edge AWD has 100,000 miles. I change all fluids myself but go to mechanics for mechanical stuff. Both cars paid for. The Honda burns 1 quart in 1000 miles and needs new catalytic converter. The Edge has no problems. I live in Wisconsin now. How long should I keep these running cars? How much should I invest in them per year? Shocks, front suspension parts can be expensive. | |||||

| Gas tank leak help | 14Relevance | 6 years ago | alexmetz | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My neighbor has a ford Edge and she ran over something on the freeway that caused a small hole in her gas tank. I looked online and it says a tank replacement install would cost around $1800-3900. Should I try and help her patch the small hole up or is it better if she just replaces the whole tank. I know her car can be a pain to get the tank out of. Pretty sure those ford Edge's make you take the seats out to get a few of the bolts. Damn engineers.. If anyone has any help, she's willing to pay me if I can get it patched up/fixed. Just want to make sure it's ... | |||||

| Do heavy shift knobs damage your manual trans components? | 12Relevance | 2 years ago | SpecOpsBoy | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty big fan. I have 2 vehicles, a 2020 Subaru WRX 21K miles with the Fa20 motor and a project car, a 1995 Eclipse GS 180K miles with the DSM 420A motor both manual trans. I've been looking into different shift knobs of various styles and weights, the OEM on my WRX is about 200 grams and 150 grams for the Eclipse. . From what I have read, i've noticed there is a lot of different opinions regarding the potential damage that a heavy shift knob lets say between 300 and 600 grams can damage a shifter's components. The opinions I've seen have not come from actual mechanics. So with all your experience have you seen or do you believe there can be damage done if someone puts a heavy shift knob in their car? Thank you for your time. | |||||
