| F 150 rough idle/stall | 10Relevance | 5 years ago | patriot150 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2016 f150 5.0 4WD 42,000 No codes My f150 started rough idling and sometimes stalls after being on the hwy for about 20 min at 70mph +. I looked online and a lot of people have the same issue, but no answers. I took it to the dealer and all they did was a software update. That didn't fix it. Online, I saw 2 possibilities: 1) canister purge valve (that would throw a code) 2) The VCT valves ( that calls for taking the valve cover off) If you have the answer that would be Awesome! Thank you. | |||||

| Awesome deal! I recently purchased a 90' f150 5.0 V8 with 86,000 on it. My problem that I notice is that everything is in good shape but the gaskets and seals are all worn out lol. But I always head over to the junkyard to find good parts off of old f150's and i'm sure you will find plenty as well! Also a junkyard is a good way to take parts off and learn how to do it before you go and do it to your personal truck lol. Have fun with the truck! 🙂 | |||||
| Repair or replace? What are the parts I should expect to replace in the coming years | 10Relevance | 5 years ago | simeon | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have 2002 f150 Supercrew with 177K miles. It burns a little oil but I stay on top of that. Replaced the transmission and oil cooler in 2018 ($3500) Replaced 2 fuel pumps in the last few years. Replaced a leaking master cylinder last year. The heater stopped working and I smell coolant in the air from the vents. Which means I have a clogged and leaking heater core. I live in texas so I was just going to bypass the heater core but I am worried that I will continue to breath what coolant has leaked and that can't be healthy. I was about to just have th ... | |||||
| Answer to: Should i change my differential fluid? | 10Relevance | 5 years ago | LandYachtLover | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| With that age and miles, I would do it. At a minimum to at least reseal the differential cover plate. I have an '04 Mercury Grand Marquis with lower miles than yours that I bought from a snowbird here in AZ and it never had the diff fluid changed. With my '03 f150 I did a full cover plate removal and fluid change and cleaned the inside; not a hard job to do at all....just follow the correct torque pattern and setting when putting the plate back on. I felt lazy with the Merc (didn't want to drop the sway bar and less room to work there than the f150) so ... | |||||
| Axle swap or rebuild? | 10Relevance | 5 years ago | MikeAF | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I’m looking to tap into the collective knowledge here to help me decide which route to take. I Have a 2007 f150 with a howling rear diff. I Would lean toward the comparatively easier axle swap because i thought these rarely fail but I also had a diff fail on my 2015 f150 so maybe it’s not that rare. (Thankfully that one was warranty covered) The 07 was purchased used a few years back to replace a collision loss so I don’t know the full history but my ‘15 was driven very gently and only ever towed a light trailer a few times. Are differential fa ... | |||||
